Farcamp is meant to be played together, though it still works alone. Now it can be: several players on one world, each with their own little camp, and the choice to throw in together.

**Your own camp, next door.** When a friend joins your game, they don't take over your colonists. They land nearby with two survivors of their own. Everything that makes a camp a camp stays theirs: their colonists and their orders, what they've discovered, what they've explored, and their buildings and beds. It's one world, but each camp only knows what its own people have learned and explored.

Once a camp builds something that needs real materials, it gets a name. The game suggests one, and you can keep it or pick your own.

**Good fences.** Living side by side needs a few manners, so camps can **claim** things: a tree, a rock, a bush, a carcass. A claim is a social line, not a wall. Another camp can still take what you claimed, but you'll be told who took what. For things that really matter there's a **locked crate**, built from planks cut at a new woodworking bench. Only your camp can open it.

**Joining forces.** Any time you like, you can invite another player into your camp. They get a named invitation, with **Join camp** and **Decline**.

| | Your own camp | After joining a friend's camp |
|---|---|---|
| Colonists | Your two | Theirs too, shared |
| Orders and work | Your own | Shared |
| Discoveries and map | What your people learned | Everything the camp knows |
| Locked crates | Yours | The camp's |
| Your old camp | — | Still there, still running; you can switch back |

Joining never creates extra colonists or moves anything between camps. Your original camp carries on with its routines while you're away, and you can switch back whenever you like.

**How it was tested.** Before calling it done, two copies of the game played it against a separate host: building, crafting, inviting, sharing a crate, switching camps, then saving, reloading and reconnecting. The screenshots taken along the way caught problems the automatic checks had missed. Founding a camp overwrote a name that had already been chosen, a "joining" label stayed on screen, and a neighbour's bed showed through the fog. All three were fixed.

This is still early. It was tested on one machine, not over the internet. You join by typing the host's address; there's no lobby or matchmaking yet. And an invitation, once accepted, can't be taken back yet.

## Open questions
- How should it feel over a real internet connection, with lag and dropped packets? Nobody has tried yet.
- Should a camp be able to remove a member, or give people different roles?
